Ronda Rousey vs Cat Zingano prediction

Ronda Rousey will be able to judo throw Zingano and get a submission in the first round by armbar. Zingano must get a KO to win, but Ronda will avoid the big knockout blow and get the fight to the floor and win.

Ronda Rousey vs Cat Zingano betting odds

Ronda Rousey is a 9 to 1 favorite in this bout. Her armbar is the most likely outcome in this battle, and her striking has also improved vastly.

Ronda Rousey -900
Cat Zingano +775

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Anthony Pettis prediction

This fight is somewhat of a coinflip situation, 50-50. But the sport tends to favour incredible wrestlers who have rounded out their game sharply like Khabib. If these two fought for the belt, Nurmagomedov would earn a decision.

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Anthony Pettis betting odds

Even money. Highest level striking at 155 versus the best wrestling at lightweight in the UFC. Anyone's fight in this potential contest.

Anthony Pettis -105
Khabib Nurmagomedov -105

UFC should hire Jimmy Smith if Joe Rogan quits / retires / leaves the UFC

Bellator commentator Jimmy Smith is someone that the UFC should hire. He has a lot of MMA knowledge, has fought, and has a strong voice and opinions. He has received high praise from many, including Joe Rogan, who tried to get him hired by the UFC. Kudos to Rogan for doing that to help out someone who is in the same field as him. If Rogan does leave his commentating job one day, it'd make sense for the UFC to hire Jimmy Smith. Rogan loves MMA and commentating, and did it for free for Dana White back in the day. But he has so much stuff going on with his life with stand up and podcasting, that one day he might just end up leaving the gig. That'd be sad to not hear him commentate, but if someone does replace him a guy like Jimmy Smith would be great. Or a Bas Rutten. And on a side note, a guy like Frank Mir is terrific as well as someone to fill in from time to time.

Will a male UFC fighter ever come out of the closet and admit he's gay?

I think at some point this will happen. A UFC fighter will come out as being gay. It might be any time soon, but at some point it will happen and would be very interesting to see. It'd be something that would really show people's true feelings on the subject of homosexuality amongst the MMA community. I'm sure most would be cool and have no problem, but a lot of people's true opinions would come out and would be interesting to see.

Moreso it would be interesting to see how people react to fighting a gay male. They would have the extra pressure of not losing to someone who is gay, even though that is a ridiculous thought in this day and age, it's still in the back of the fighter's mind. There would be rampant gay jokes due to the amounts of homo-erotic movements in jiu-jitsu, and it would be something that would definitely make a lot of people reconsider how they view homosexual men and gay athletes. I think it would definitely be a hard thing to do for a man to come out as an MMA fighter while still fighting because the over the top bravado aspect of the game, but at the same time I'm sure he would be welcomed. Fighters have been supportive to the gay community like Conor McGregor and Rashad Evans, and generally MMA is a very new sport with a fresh outlook on things. Whether or not it will happen in our life time we don't know, but look forward to seeing a gay fighter come out one day in the UFC. Surely there have been some. We just have to wait and see if someone can tap into that courage that they have to step in the cage and also apply that same courage to show the world who they are.

Are UFC fans a bunch of racists and that's why they don't like Jon Jones?

Are a lot of UFC fans racist? Sure. Just like the rest of the population. But it's just a human thing. We have anger, pain, suffering, and hate that lives inside of us. If it wasn't colour it'd be the shoes you wear or the size of your eyebrows. White people hate other white people, blacks hate blacks, Indians hate Indians, and Chinese hate Chinese.

As far as the UFC fan base, there are some who couldn't care less about what colour the UFC champion is, but there are some that do. And if you looked at some of the fan-base of Chael Sonnen, some were non-discriminating folk who just enjoyed his sense of humour and entertaining diatribes. Then there were others who wanted to see the white man ground and pound the black man in Anderson Silva. Didn't work out for them there, but you could just sense that that was there sentiment.

As far as Jon Jones, there's a lot of differing opinion on why you like him and don't. The can range from:

-Like because he's a great fighter
-Everyone loves a winner, so we love him
-Like him because he's black

-Don't like him because he's "cocky"
-Don't like him because he's "fake"
-Don't like him because he's black

There are a million reasons to like and dislike someone. Are some of those reasons racist? Sure. Some blacks like him because he's black and want to support there own. Some whites don't like him because he's black and don't like black people. Joe Rogan brought this to the forefront on his podcast, but it just speaks to the racist sentiment that lives in the United States and the rest of the world as well. Whether it's throwing banana peels at black soccer players in Europe or getting together with your white friends to see a black fighter get beat up. In the end it doesn't have to be that personal. We don't need to obsess about Jon Jones personality and race, but just look at him as a great athlete. And nobody is on top forever. So if you don't like him, don't worry, there will be a new champ one day. And if it's a white champion who you idolize, realize that he is going to go down one day as well. Just enjoy the show and admire the heart, passion, and athleticism, regardless of race.

UFC 178 prediction Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier

If Poirier turns this into a pure ground and pound fest he has a good chance to win. But he does tend to want to strike with all fighters he does face and that might lend itself to being counter-punched by Conor McGregor, who is a master at that. Conor via first round TKO. Conor has a good chance against all "strikers" in the division, but will have a tough time against well rounded wrestlers like Mendes and also against Edgar. Even a guy like Guida will give him problems. Guida is the most one-dimensional of those three, but he isn't interested in proving he is a sexy striker against a guy like Conor, he'd make it an ugly fight that might not be that entertaining, but would give him a good chance to ground and pound and win a decision.

UFC 183 prediction: Anderson Silva knocks out Nick Diaz

Anderson Silva has a very strong counter-punching style and Nick Diaz comes forward with a lot of punches. That leaves  a lot of openings for Silva to capitalize. First round TKO for Anderson Silva.

UFC 181 betting odds Brendan Schaub vs Travis Browne

Travis Browne is a 4.5 to 1 favourite over Brendan Schaub for his UFC 181 battle. Browne is ranked #3 at heavyweight, currently Schaub is unranked in the official rankings which categorize #1 through #15.

Travis Browne -450
Brendan Schaub +400
