John Kavanagh: It'd be awesome if people involved in the MMA industry would stop referring to MMA as "violence", try "competitive".

The word has a negative connotation in the mainstream media. You can talk about MMA without using the word "violence", but sometimes it's a just adjective to add a point. John's dislike of the word is due to trying to convince politicians that the sport is not uncontrolled violence and thuggery. Either way, it's just a word and people who have biases to MMA will likely continue to do so regardless. MMA definitely isn't a game like ping pong. You can play ping pong with your grandmother. You will not play MMA with her.
